VisionQuest’s New Directions Shelter and Diagnostic Center provides protective care for teens awaiting adjudication by a court, and a safe-haven for young people in the midst of a family crisis. New Directions provides these youth with a short-term living environment under round-the-clock supervision by professional staff.
While New Directions is not a treatment program in the traditional sense, its design provides each youth the opportunity to engage in therapeutic discussions with competent, caring adults. Young people participate in daily group sessions that address such topics as academic problems, anger management, drugs and alcohol, cultural diversity and life skills.
Youths participate in a variety of daily on-site athletic and recreational activities. Registered nurses are available around the clock, and a physician is always on call. There are two locations for this program: the program for boys is located in Coatesville, Pa and the program for girls is located in Lancaster, PA.
