The Madalyn Program for Young Women is an innovative treatment program that is specifically tailored to the gender-specific needs of adolescent girls ages 12-18 with emotional and behavioral health concerns.
The program, provides a setting in which troubled young women can focus on their treatment issues and develop new self-confidence and skills in a unique environment of emotional and clinical support. Staff are particularly attuned to and skilled at working with the issues and interests of girls, which are significantly different from those of boys.
The program utilizes a multi-disciplinary approach that includes: academics, individual and group therapy sessions, equine and outdoor adventure programming, sports, life skills training, as well as medical, psychological, and psychiatric services. Services are individualized to each girl’s needs.
As part of the therapeutic process, girls take part in VisionQuest’s unique Extraordinary Experiences -- engaging activities that provide opportunities for enjoyment, character development, skill-building, and personal growth. Included in these experiences are such things as outdoor activities, Equine Assisted Therapy, community service projects, and various VisionQuest rite-of-passage ceremonies. Onsite outpatient clinic services are available for eligible youth.
