College Students

VisionQuest provides an opportunity for college students studying in human services, social-sciences and education fields to work in a dynamic environment with our youth. A summertime job with VisionQuest provides fieldwork experience for your college course of study and an opportunity to explore first-hand both a post graduation career and an opportunity to help at-risk youth.

Opportunities include positions in adventure programming in rural settings and in education at VisionQuest schools.

Adventure Staff Position
As an Adventure Staff, you will work under the supervision of VisionQuest’s Adventure Specialists in conducting daily and extended adventure based activities such backpacking/hiking, rock climbing, mountain biking, ropes course, canoeing, equestrian and/or endurance athletics with our youth. Adventure staff need to be flexible, enjoy the outdoors and be available for overnight excursions from 3-14 days. You need to be able to participate in the above activities and have the social skills required for working with troubled youth. You will participate as needed in treatment planning and the reporting of progress information for youth within the program and must have good verbal and written communication skills.

Instructional Assistant
As an instructional assistant you will work in VisionQuest classrooms under the supervision of VisionQuest Teachers and the Principal. You will assist the teacher in implementing the daily testing, evaluation, and lessons provided by the teachers. You must have the social skills required for working with troubled youth and good verbal and written communication skills.
