Gender Specific Programming

Girls have particular needs and challenges that require a gender-appropriate response. Teenage girls tend to “act out” in ways that are different from their male peers, to have life issues that are significantly different, and to respond best to different types of treatment approaches.

VisionQuest has responded to this by developing the Madalyn Program for Young Women. The Madalyn Program provides an environment of safety, structure and support in which past issues can be resolved, and a positive direction for the future can be established. Young women participate in individual and group treatment sessions to reduce the adverse effects of abuse, victimization, neglect, exploitation, unhealthy relationships, and trauma.
