Functional Family Therapy (FFT)

Functional Family Therapy is a community-based, blueprint program for helping families deal with problems involving a young person who lives at home. A nationally-recognized evidence-based approach, FFT targets youth ages 11-18 who are having problems with delinquency, substance abuse or violence.

FFT engages the entire family in the treatment process. A skilled FFT therapist meets weekly with the family in their home, assisting them to strengthen bonds, identify issues, learn new problem-solving strategies, and implement solutions. Ultimately, the family members gain skills which can be use to successfully solve to future problems that may arise.

Research has shown that participation in FFT not only produces positive results for the targeted child, but also has beneficial impacts on the development of younger siblings as well.
